Why do FEMM Teachers recertify?
The Teacher Recertification Course is important professional development for FEMM Teachers. Each year’s course will cover different topics and case studies to help you grow in your knowledge as you provide education to women. FEMM Teachers who were certified two or more years ago must take this course in order to remain active and listed on the FEMM website.
Are there any prerequisites for the Recertification Course?
The only prerequisite is the FEMM Teacher Training Course Certification.
If I certified in December 2024, do I still need to recertify in 2026?
Yes. Certifications are classified by year. For example, if you certified anytime in 2022, you should have recertified in 2024. If you certified anytime in 2023, you should recertify in 2025. If you certified anytime in 2024, please plan to recertify in 2026.
I certified in 2023 and I missed last year’s (2025) Recertification course. Am I considered uncertified?
Yes, you are currently considered uncertified. You should plan to recertify this year (2026) in order to maintain certification and receive access to the Certified FEMM Teacher Community.
What is the Chart Assessment exercise?
In 2025, we introduced a Chart Assessment exercise that will be a required component of the Recertification. This assignment is based on a sample, practice chart (you do not need to provide any charting of your own/your clients). Our team will provide feedback on your submission.
How long does the Recertification Course take?
The required element time breakdown is:
- Spring webinar (2 hours)
- Fall webinar (2 hours)
- Chart Assessment submission (1 hour)
Watching the previously recorded webinars (optional) and watching or participating live in the Masterclass (optional) increases the overall time commitment.
When does the annual Recertification Course close?
The course officially closes on December 31 of the recertification year. We recommend aiming to complete all of the material by August 31 and participating in the fall webinar.
